The Full Story
Miley and Twyla
Our journey began in 2020, after I, Miley, spent two years working as a business office and project manager for another remodeling company. With that experience and a desire to create something of my own, I leaped and started this company.
Before that, I worked in management in long-term health care, but I knew it was time for a change. A friend’s husband needed help in his construction business, and that’s how I found my way into this industry I quickly fell in love with the work which is why I decided to found StrongHER Home Improvement.
Although I didn’t have a ton of experience in construction when I started, I had a strong background in project management and a passion for painting. I had mostly worked on small painting projects before I met my husband, Rocky, and together we’ve expanded our company skill set to offer a wide range of services.
While we now do it all—painting, countertops, flooring, and more—painting is still my favorite. I love transforming walls, furniture, and pretty much anything that can be painted into something that can be beautiful and renewed. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a space come to life with a fresh coat of paint.
What drives me the most is helping people make their homes beautiful. My favorite projects are the ones where homeowners just need a little help to get things done. I love working alongside them, teaching them new skills, and seeing the pride they take in their finished projects. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that we’re helping people improve their spaces in a way that’s meaningful to them.
Our clients range from homeowners to investors and property managers, all looking for reliable, high-quality remodeling and painting services. We’re also proud of the small but dedicated team we’ve built over the years. Although we don’t have pictures of everyone yet (I’ll get them one day, I promise!), I want to showcase the hardworking people behind the scenes.
One achievement I’m particularly proud of is being featured in the Clinton City Magazine for painting the Blessings Box. It was such a rewarding project, and seeing our work recognized in the community was really special. And yes, I’ve been on a roof and scaffolding—that’s no small feat, let me tell you!
Looking ahead, my vision for the company is big. I dream of seeing our sign proudly displayed on a construction fence surrounding a major project—just like the ones you see on large construction sites. And I’m especially passionate about teaching other women how to do all the things we do, empowering them with the skills and confidence to take on their own projects.
Thanks for stopping by and learning a little about our story. We can’t wait to work with you and help make your home a space you’ll love!
